Electric tow bar help

Hi just need some info with the tow bar electrics , on my 1.9cdti 150 .56 plate

I have a 7 pin socket with the trailer module , I’ve searched online how to add the socket for caravan for the 12v live but gets a bit complicated with different types of sockets 12n 12s etc ,

My question is , is it possible to add the caravan socket to my towbar 7pin socket .
I’ve seen splitters and adapters but not having much luck as I don’t understand .

Any help would be appreciated .

Door lock replacement

Hi,

my door lock stuck not lock/unlock my central locking not always work so I leave back seats down in case I'm locked out to go inside the trunk and open the locks.

Does anybody have a guide how to take out/replace the door lock from a vectra b?
I only got to a part where I remove the interior of the door , manage to unscrew two nuts holding the base with the lock and slight remove the handle...
Problem is handle and lock attach to a wire that release the lock and I can't seem to find...

vectra 1.8 vvti sri petrol rattle

hi guys i've a 08 vectra 1.8 petrol drives nice but it developed an oil leak ... still tracking as it comes and goes, but it now has a rattle from the cam and tappets what safe additive can i put in to quieten it down a little, it is louder after it's got warm.... help

Guys. Have problem on Insignia 2014. Once turned off engine, and locked the car my interior panel lights stays on. Normally its goes off after few sec. Any ideas please?

Hey guys, i got a major issue with my winter car here. (It's a 08 Saab 9-3.. And Saab forums offered no help at all)

So, the car in question has a Z19DT (8v) engine.


So, the symptoms: The car started to become difficult to start, cranking for about 5 sec. At the time i suspected a bad battery, due to it being way below freezingpoint. And the engine turned quite slowly, and using jumpleads got the car running. A symptom that had happend a few times (Once a week) was that it cranked for...

Hi guys.
Still learning in terms of the DPF regens. Fitted the retrofit led a few weeks ago as many of you may already know from previous posts. Since i’ve Fitted it every time it illuminates I just carry on driving.

1 question I do hope you lovely lot can answer, the Car had only been running for about 5 mins this evening, and still cool, is it normal for a regen to start when the engine has only been running for about 5 mins, 1 thing I noticed is the temp gauge shot upto optimum temp...

insignia sri cd300 nav map deleted and want to get it back

Please i wish someone can help me on this. I just bough an Insignia 2010 SRI CD300 Sat Nav and i mistakenly deleted the map data. Trying to get it back but the system is asking for navigation CD which i don't have. how can i go round it to get my map data back without having to go see a dealer who will suck me money now which i sinserely don't have after the purchase!!!! Please i need help

Please help if you can.
I have a 2011 Insignia 2.0L turbo diesel.
I have an intermittent coolant loss.
I can’t tell exactly where this leak is coming from but it appears to be from the cam belt area. The cam belt and water pump was done in May 17 around 8000 miles ago. The car has now done 93000. I took it to the garage the other day and they couldn’t find a leak. I saw the car running with the cam cover off and no water drips or anything (water system full) and it was bone dry. The...

Fitting new Insignia Cluster

Good morning,

I was wondering if anyone has anyone experience in fitting and programming a new cluster for a MK1 Insignia. I have the basic style cluster with the small display and wondered like to purchase the one with the bigger display that shows me information. Also I assume if you were able to change out the cluster you would need the sensor for things like the oil pressure etc? See my pics for the display types.

Hello everyone!

I'm new to the GM/Opel world (Former VAG owner), I do most of my repairs my self. However looking at the forums posts I see that some gearboxes is affected, some problems with clogged engine oil channels and maybe more. It's not worse than VAG cars.

But could someone send me in the right direction, I'm looking to buy a Insignia but I don't exactly know what to look for, if this already have discussed please give me a link?

Insignia taking time to start up

Hello people,


I have a 1.8 insignia and I've had nothing but problems with it over the years, but i've still kept the car lol

Now it is taking time to start up i have to keep the key turned and it takes at least 30-45 seconds for the car to actually start up, once it gets started it is not a problem.

Ive had the spark plugs changed, still no good and it doesn't seem to be the battery otherwise the car wouldn't have started. When my friend was changing the spark plugs he said it could...

Stabilitrak warning flashed up....

Does anyone know what the hell a "stabilitrak" is?

Just done about a 2 hour drive up the M1/M6 and as I was cruising along, the engine management light came on along with a service warning, which indicated a fault with this stabilitrak thing. It flashed off after a few seconds and I cant feel/see/smell anything wrong with the car at all.

Carried on driving and it never reappeared. I've booked it into the garage just to be sure, but wondering if you guys have seen anything like that before?...

Witter detachable towbar swan neck part number.

Long shot, but Ive a 2009 Vectra Estate. it has been fitted with a Witter Detachable towbar system. However the detachable swan neck section is missing.

its a Vertical system. but I've spent the last for days trying to find the part number, If anyone has an idea, please let me know.

Dont fancy buying direct from Witter as its over £200+ and the part number appears to be missing from there part list and online ordering section.

Starting causes brake lights to operate.

I have a 2005 signum 1.9 tdci and it went into limp mode, just before limp mode brake switch warning appeared on the dash, car still starts and runs (in limp mode) however I noticed the brake lights operate when starting the car, brake not pressed, any ideas would be helpful, many thanks....

hi, can someone help. I have a 2016 insignia and I want to remove the pipe from the throttle body to the intercooler. How do you disconnect the pipe at the throttle. There is a grey plastic ring do you have to rotate it or push it one way or the other. Thanks

Bad starting

In the morning it gets bad. the engine does not develop revs, does not react to the accelerator pedal. After 5-10 seconds the engine starts as usual.

Electric window closes too far

lo peeps,

all the time i had my calibra, when using the one push to close the driver window it closes too far and ends up coming back down thinking its obstructed, tapping the button will close it and have been happy to do that all the time i had it, but now after fitting a new alarm i want to wire my windows up to the autoshut function cant do this until i fix it. where can i adjust where it thinks its closed enough?

After searching here and not uncovering anything, all i have seen is...

Hi guys,

New member here so go easy!
I have a 58plate Insignia exclusiv nav 2.0 CDTI with 106k on the clock. I’ve owned it for 10 years.

I have never had any major issues with it until now!

So I’ve had a significant coolant loss, to the point where I’m unable to drive further than 20miles.
Attached is a picture of where it is dripping from (I know nothing about cars!) and the undertrays are soaked. It drips steadily when the car is turning over and stops when the engine has stopped....
