2.2 L misfires on idle
Hi guys,
I recently bought vectra c 2003 2.2l auto. Which started to misfire on idle.
What it does is: Runs sweet (idle)for few seconds, then starts misfiring(very close for stalling but it never does), then runs sweet for another few seconds.. and so on.. it only happens on idle, otherwise goes good and does not skip a beat.
Engine light is on:
obd2 says: System Too lean bank 1 P0171.
I've been trying to track down the reason why its happening, but no luck yet.
Few days ago got new spark...

Vectra rear shock absorber replacements
hi all, I have just had a towbar fitted to my 55 plate vectra it's a 1.9 diesel hatch and I am looking to replace the rear shocks as they are definitely on their way out and was just wondering if it would be a good time to fit uprated items and can anybody recommend what to go for. I don't want to lower the car or make it sporty or anything like that I just want to improve the handling/comfort if that makes any sense thanks.

Hi guys. Still having problems with my 2006 vectra. Having jump started it a month or so ago and blowing my satnav and computer screen I'm still disconnecting the battery every time it's parked up. My neighbour stuck a clamp meter on the battery leads yesterday and it's draining 1.8 amps just standing. If I was to pull every fuse one by one with the meter on would this tell me where the drain is. My garage had the car for 4 hour only telling me the volts went from 12.7 to 12.8 while he had it...

Help! Vec c with very poor handling!
I am looking for some advice on the bad straight line handling on my 1.9 sri 150 estate Vectra. When it is cold and low on fuel it is a lot,lot worse, it twitches at every bump , keep having to correct the steering and the steering feels light (I do drive a vivaro all day so maybe that's heavy!).It feels ok on corners. I have owned it from nearly new and now it has done about 95000 miles of easy driving. It has not been modified in any way, and I have tried all sorts of tyre pressures, it also...

Car missing at end of journey
I don't drive very much. Recently, the has started doing the following; It drives very well. after driving sometime, and I start to slow down. The engine starts missing. I got home ok. However, I go for another drive. Car works Ok. Then, out of the blue, the same thing happens! 3 times this has happened. Yesterday though, It was bad. struggled to get home. I had a new Coil strip fitted about, 10 months ago.

best fuel ?
I have a 08' vectra sri and wondered which fuel is best as i am not keen on supermarket fuel, is there much difference between shell v power & BP ultimate ? and would it REALLY make much difference to the engine ? any help would be very much appreciated from more knowledgeable persons than myself, thanks very much ![:)]( "Smile :)")

Preventative Maintenance ?
As the title suggests, I'm looking at ways of prolonging the life of my 2007 Sri cdti 150. It's already done 160k with full history but this is just stamps in a book so not really sure of what has been changed over its years and miles.
After reading a few threads here it seams the 150bhp cdti isn't themost reliable of units? Soooooo what can be done to help with limiting Dual Mass, EGR, swirl flaps and if it's fitted DPF failers?

This the test I did this morning. 1.8 vvt Vectra 2006-2008
Outside tempereture 9 degree.
Just local driving. 50% standing and idling, and 50% driving in gears 1,2 & 3 (but mainly in gear 2)
- 0 minutes. Start engine and start driving almost immediately.
Temperature - takes a long time to warm

Bp ultimate
Im gonna start using bp ultimate now but i have just over a quarter of tank of normal and was wondering if i should run the quarter of tank of normal diesel down then fill up with ultimate! Does ultimate make much of a difference? Any help would be appreciated lads cheers

This is a bit of a weird one, as the title says "Tailgate Stop Light Stays On Permanently All On It's Own!" .
I had a shunt into the rear of my Vectra, through the insurance I went to Vauxhall Drive to get it repaired but after a couple of days I noticed by chance the above problem. I took it back and Drive and they didn't have a clue. The other lights were working as normal except the numberplate lights needed replacing due to the impact.
Drive mentioned that it is a common problem...
