Wife's jus rang said car won't start,sent a video an sounds like it's spinning too freely like belts gone or summat what do u guys Think? Used it to get home this morning she's jus nipped out an now just turns over. 62 plate cdti sri

Are these prone to failing a lot?
Are there any ways to test if it's failing or is it a case of it either works or not? Jus twice now it has not started, throwing the eml light up on dash but after an hour it decided it would start an is a bit squeaky round belt side,not really investigated it yet but the subbie the AA sent thinks it's this that's the prob.
Would you also be happy to replace it with a re conditioned unit or just buy new?

Hi guys,

Apologies for selecting the Vectra in the title but it is the same engine. I currently have a couple of problems with the car, and I was looking on your opinion. The problems are:

1. Minor oil leak at turbo
2. Exhaust leak from metal pipe between EGR cooler, and where EGR is (although I have removed and blanked EGR)
3. Rounded allen bolt on flange between EGR cooler pipe and exhaust manifold.

(I also need to do the clutch/DMF but that's a seperate issue).

Okay so new to the forum, arrived here through a million google searches for my problem. Seen a few threads of similar problems but no fixes. Hoping some wise folk can help me out before i give up and buy a push bike!

61 plate Insignia 1.8 (A18XER). Lack of power, no EML, starts OK but takes 5 seconds or so when cold to idle correctly.

Only fault code is P0101 which clears but comes back as pending after a short run. No difference with MAF plugged in or not. Tried a MAF of another perfectly running car, no difference,. Other car runs fine with MAF from this car. Data list shows MAF reacting quickly. If you feather the throttle gently the power is there but not 100%. Coasting then accelerating with WOT...

On my Vectra B, 2.0i, engine type X20XEV, I have a permanent fault code 0340. It is complaining about cam sensor incorrect signal as soon as the car is started.
I did a resistance check on the sensor and found it faulty. It was then replaced it with a new modified sensor (Vauxhall/Hella) and an adapter. I was not happy with the wiring (3 core screened) from the sensor to ECU and hence this was also changed. All body earth cables cleaned. Resistance checks from sensor to ECU pins were fine...

There is friend who have build a calibra V6 inlet manifold with improved internals dimensions to help engine breath better. He's finding a foundry to built it up and soon it might be possible to have more details about it. Items are the upper dog-leg manifold and the middle section (where fitted rail and injector rail). Both have larger inner ducts (+14% flow tested on flow bench) and stock shape. It's an improved Mantzel version with dyno tested...

Hi, I have just had my dual mass flywheel and clutch replace about a week ago. After having them replaced it is now hard to select gears 2 4 and 6. There is no crunching sound and it will go in but takes more than the normal amount of force to put it in them gears. I have spoken to the garage and they said that it needs time to bed in and will get better, is that correct? I have spoken to a few people they seem to think it could be something to do with clutch cables or hydraulic?

Any help...

:) Hello everyone, sorry for my ENG ..... I need some help with my Vectra Im getting a U2112-71 code from op-com as an unknown code , that should be an ERROR in CDC but I dont know exactly which part of it , where should I look? what can be bad? Hi all, when driving my 2011 2.0 cdti I get power loss when accelerating but not hard, I say loss, it just won't accelerate, engine doesn't 'die' just no kmph.

Hi guys,

Brought myself a 2011 insignia sri last weekend. Always loved insignia's so madly in love ;).

I only have one issue and im not sure if its me worring somthing is wrong when you get a new car or its just where i have changed car.

The issue......
When stationary or at very low speed (5mph - 10mph) all gears are fine. But when accelerating above that speed and going up through the gears or when slowing down and dropping down the gears, 1st, 2nd and 3rd seem alot stiffer to get in...

Some advice please

hey guys I’m new to the forums and was wondering if anyone could help me out, I had a look to see if this was mentioned before but couldn’t see anything, my 2.2 vectra c Sri went into limp mode about a month ago, I plugged it into the diagnostics and it came back as a misfire on cylinder 4, so I replaced the plugs, the coil pack and the maf sensor but the car still has a slight misfire and goes into limp mode, if the car is turned off and back on after it’s out of limp mode but will not rev...

2010 Vauxhall Insignia

Car is turning over but won’t start? When the key is turned the car turns over and goes through the motions but is missing that final kick to actually start up and stay running.

Car is currently with a Vauxhall Dealership that cannot give me a definite answer as to why my car is not starting. I have asked repeatedly for my key to be checked and they have told me there is no point even testing the key as the car would do nothing if the key was the issue? i.e. it can’t...

Hi I have an Insignia 2.8 v6 4x4 turbo (2009) there is a noise and a water leak coming from the drivers side of the engine so I guess its the water pump is the water pump driven of the timing belt on this car, should I change the timing belt as well.

Its using water I have to top it up every 10 miles of so and it seems to be running hot as well but that's just a feeling as the temperature gauge has always read normal.

There is an engine warning light on yellow

I'm trying to change my element type oil filter, but the retaining cap (metal) is on very tight.

Is there a trick to loosening it?
So far I've used a 24mm hex spanner I've exerted enough torque that I'm about to strip the nut and it still won't undo.
Would a oil filter cap wrench socket do better? Than a regular socket wrench?

Would loosening it while the engine is warm help (hoping the housing (metal) will...

Hi guys, apologies if a repeat question/thread.

I have a 58 plate insignia petrol turbo 4x4 2.0l (220bhp version).

Now I'm in to the cold weather, the car has started giving me a service vehicle soon message on startup (every time).
20 minutes roughly into a journey, a service ESP fault comes on and the car goes in to limp mode.

I pull over, swich engine off... switch back on, car comes out of limp mode, then straight away hold down the traction control / ESP button for roughly 10...

Hi guys. Having a bit of trouble with my 08 Vectra SRI 1.9CDTI. I have recently changed out my thermostat + housing (genuine vauxhall part) everything ok blowers get nice and hot ect. But still temperate sits at 85 degrees max will not go up any more. Anyway 3-4weeks later I notice after 10 mins of driving my thermostat will drop to 0 ans the fan will kick In for around 20 seconds then turn off then my temperature gauge will go up again. But it keeps doing this every minute or so constantly...
